My name is Artemis Papert. The therapies I offer are Shiatsu and Reiki. As a therapist, I see myself as a facilitator that helps you (re)access your own healing process. Over and over again I am impressed by the power of the self-healing abilities of the human body. Both therapies that I practice deal with all parts of our being, bringing body and mind together again.
But let's start from the beginning. Quite some years ago, I trained as a biologist in Geneva. So the first part of my working life was spent as a biology researcher -that is how I came to Scotland. It is also how my interest in complementary therapies started. Among all the courses at university there was one that really stood out: medicinal botany. My interest in the healing properties of plants and in alternative healing methods has never stopped since then. I have now left biology to be a full time complementary therapist.
In 1999 I completed my Reiki training. A few months later I started a three years course in Shiatsu.
I am especially interested in the relationships between body and mind. I trained for two years in Transactional Analysis counselling/psychotherapy. I am currently training to become a Jungian psychoanalyst. In the future I hope to offer, besides body work, a combination of "body and talk" therapy.
When I have spare time, I enjoy drawing and painting.
